SANDLOT BALL: Indiana wins tourney games

Keegan Ryan belted a pair of homers to lead Indiana to a 10-7 win over New Bethlehem in a Little League District 7 12-year-old tournament game.

Ryan hit two three-run homers, the second of which drove in the game-winning runs for Indiana.

Luke Wachob added three hits for Indiana. Ryan Dixson, Luke Thomas and Joey Bujdos had two hits apiece. Brandon Boyer struck out three in relief to get the win.

Indiana faces Marion Center on Wednesday.

• Indiana defeated Homer City, 31-3, in a District 7 nine- and 10-year-old all-star softball first-round playoff game Sunday.

Winning pitcher Hannah Householder had three hits, including a double, and struck out four. Sarah Zimmerman had four strikeouts in relief and added two hits. Abby Chamnick had two hits, including a double, for Indiana.

Savanna Ahlborn struck out four and added a double for Homer City.

Indiana advances to face KESS on Tuesday.
