CLARION (AP) — A man has pleaded guilty to injecting the heroin that led to a western Pennsylvania woman’s death and then moving her body to her car to make it appear she had overdosed on her own.

The (Oil City) Derrick reported Shawn Ryan Carr, 30, of Kittanning, pleaded guilty to drug delivery resulting in death, abuse of a corpse and other crimes after Clarion County prosecutors agreed to drop a more serious third-degree murder charge against him.

Under terms of Wednesday’s plea agreement, he will face eight to 16 years in prison when he’s sentenced Aug. 14.

The mother of Devan Knapp, 19, reported her missing Jan. 13, and her body was found in her car two days later on a road outside Clarion.
