ALUMNI FOOTBALL: Blairsville nips Saltsburg, 12-7

SALTSBURG — Matt Doak completed only five passes, but totaled 165 yards through the air, and Roger Briscoe rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns to lead Blairsville to a 12-7 win over Saltsburg on Saturday in an Alumni Football USA game.

Briscoe scored on touchdown runs of 5 (first quarter) and 3 yards (fourth) for the Bobcats. Bryan Smith scored the Trojans’ lone points on a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Doak completed 5 of 19 attempts for 165 yards. Steve Wilk caught two passes for 68 yards, Jeremy Greenawalt had one catch for 42 yards, Brandon Falcone caught one pass for 28 yards and Bobby Shorthouse had one catch for 7 yards.

Todd Lantz led the Saltsburg offense with 15 yards on seven carries. Marty Steele (4-for-8 for 44 yards) and Manny Speal (3-for-5 for 48 yards) split time at quarterback for the Trojans. Pete Morcheid and Smith had two catches apiece.
