BLAIRSVILLE — Cornell Creamery, a self-serve frozen yogurt and ice cream shop in Blairsville, held a grand opening Saturday, almost two months after a “soft opening” on June 4.

The creamery is in the old pasteurizing plant of Cornell’s Dairy Farm, where customers at one time brought their own milk jugs to be filled.

Charles and Phyllis Kendall bought 3.5 acres with buildings from the original farm in September. Charles’ mother, Elsie Cornell Kendall, was the daughter of James S. Cornell and brother of George Cornell.

The creamery has anoutdoor play area that allows adults to relax at picnic tables as children play on wooden equipment.
