JOHNSTOWN — A Florida man died Wednesday of injuries he suffered in a motorcycle crash in Indiana County, authorities said.

James Seelig, 29, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., died of a head injury due to the accident, and his death was ruled accidental, said Jeffrey Lees, the chief deputy coroner of Cambria County.

Seelig died at Memorial Medical Center, where he had been admitted for treatment of injuries following the wreck.

State police in Indiana reported a motorcycle driven by Seelig hit a deer about 8:30 p.m. July 14 on Route 217 near Hill Road in Blacklick Township.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Kelly Jo Pape, 40, of Blairsville, was killed in the accident.

Troopers reported Pape wore a motorcycle helmet but Seelig did not.
