Rena Enterline, of Blairsville, was named the most valuable player as the PA Blue Thunder seventh-grade AAU girls’ basetball team won the championship in the eighth-grade division at the Charm City Adidas Showcase in Baltimore on July 28.
Enterline averaged 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals in the tournament.
She is the daughter of Mark and Amy Enterline.
Moran wins Over-40 game
Moran Financial racked up 13 hits and thumped Rae-Lyn, 17-2, in an Indiana Over-40 Baseball League game Sunday at the White Township Recreation Complex.
Jerry Fox hit a grand slam and a single and drove in five runs to power Moran Financial. John Serian singled twice and drove in three runs, Jason Magalich homered, singled and drove in two runs, and Scott Moran and Curt Thomas each singled twice.
Fox, Kevin Geer and John Schulte teamed up to toss a six-hitter. Fox pitched three innings to pick up the win.
Rich Fetterman singled twice to lead Rae-Lyn.
Vak fires hole-in-one
SPRING CHURCH — Dr. Steve Vak, of New Kensington, fired a hole-in-one Monday at The Links at Spring Church.
Vak used a pitching wedge to ace No. 4, a 129-yard hole, par-3 hole.
