YOUTH LEGION BASEBALL: Clymer Legion edges Indiana Lions

CLYMER — In a game played Wednesday, Clymer Legion landed the last blow in a pitchers’ duel and scored two runs on errors in the sixth inning to edge Indiana Lions, 3-1, in an Indiana County Youth Legion game.

With the game knotted 2-2, Clayton Stupic walked and then scored later in the bottom of the sixth on an error to give Clymer Legion a 3-2 lead. Later in the inning, Zac Horwat singled, stole second and then scored on an error to make it a 4-2 game.

Horwat, Roman Tate and Mike Hildebrand each singled twice for Clymer Legion.

Winning pitcher Clayton Stupic tossed a three-hitter. Stupic struck out one and walked one.

Thomas Budash ripped an RBI single to drive in Indiana Lions’ lone run.

Losing pitcher Cameron Allmendinger struck out four and walked three in 2 2-3 innings of relief.

Clymer Legion (7-4) travels to Fezell Enterprises today. Indiana Lions (6-4) plays host to Fezell Enterprises on Monday.
