Sikora places in Fuhrer tourney

PITTSBURGH — Former IUP standout Ryan Sikora squandered a two-stroke lead to place fourth in the Frank B. Fuhrer Jr. Invitational golf tournament Wednesday at the Pittsburgh Field Club.

Sikora, a Hannastown Golf Club pro, shot a 282 in four rounds. Sikora finished three strokes behind winner Mike Van Sickle. Sikora held a two-stroke lead over Van Sickle heading into today’s final round.

Another former IUP standout, Sean Knapp, posted a 296 in four rounds to finish in a tie for 21st.

Indiana resident Jon Mills carded a 304 in four rounds to finish in a tie for 31st.

Daniel Braun, the Indiana Country Club pro, shot a 309 in four rounds to place 37th.
