Tate, Semsick lead local golfers

CRESSON — Roman Tate had the best finish, and Wade Semsick posted the best score among the five local players in Monday’s Northeast Junior Golf Tour event at the Summit Country Club.

Tate, of Clymer, shot an 88 and tied for third in the Pine Valley Division for boys 16 to 18 years old.

Semsick, of Indiana, shot an 85 and placed seventh in the Oakmont Division in the same age group.

Seth Peterson, of Clymer, carded a 90 and placed ninth, and A.J. Bono, of Homer City, shot a 91 and finished 10th.

Ian Helsel, of Indiana, shot an 89 and placed fifth in the Oakmont Division’s 13 to 15 age group.
