Apollo-Ridge parents have a new alternative when it comes to sending in absence excuses.
Last year, the school began to offer an option where parents could send excuses through a designated email instead of delivering them with their kids.
Now, the school plans to soon transition from email to a Web form for the excuses, according to Matt Curci, Apollo-Ridge superintendent.
“The system we made is a little more handy for parents,” he said of the email option. “I think there are people who definitely like it.”
One of the reasons that they do, he said, is the convenience. Parents can send in an excuse from anywhere, at any time.
Another benefit, he said, is the ability to verify that the excuse has been received by the school, and not forgotten in their child’s backpack.
School officials anticipate that the Web form will prove even more convenient.
Parents of Apollo-Ridge students, Curci said, can expect to hear more about the switch from email to Web form at the beginning of the school year.
