Traffic pattern changes began today on Route 422 in Shelocta Borough and Armstrong Township to facilitate improvements at the intersection of Route 56/156 and Ridge Road, according to a release from PennDOT.
Drainage and shoulder work will be completed on this project during daytime hours.
There will be no lane closures during these operations, but lane shifts may occur.
The project includes intersection improvements, the addition of turning lanes, drainage upgrades and repairs, and an asphalt overlay.
Motorists are asked to be cautious of construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zone, to watch for flaggers in the work zone and to remember that fines are doubled in a work zone.
This $1,443,044 safety improvement project is being completed by Lindy Paving, of Sandy Lake. The project is expected to be completed by mid-October.
