ARMAGH — Freshman Collin Smith rushed for 107 yards, Alec Bloom hauled in nine receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown, and Dereck Croyle scored twice in Ligonier Valley’s victory over United in a Heritage Conference football game Friday night.

Smith, in his first varsity start, topped 100 yards on 10 carries.

Bloom came up with eight of his catches in the first half, and quarterback Scott Fennell finished 12-for-22 for 177 yards and rushed for two touchdowns.

Croyle scored Ligonier’s first two touchdowns on 3- and 1-yard runs, and Alex Marsh closed the scoring with a 3-yard run.

United’s only touchdown, and its first of the season, came on the last play of the first half when Weylon McGeary hit Tayler Sheriff on a 14-yard scoring play.
