TONY GREENAWALT: Extend helping hand
September 12, 2013 10:40 AM

Reach out your hand and say, “Thank you.” Do this today to a neighbor, a loved one and especially the people who daily safeguard our country, our neighborhood, our families and our homes.

I never thought the day would come when I would say, “We older people need to help the younger people!” Education on the foundations of consequences for your actions, responsibilities, what one nation under God represents. This is dearly needed in these days. We all should never forget the history of this great nation of people and our families’ history.

Put down the cellphone, walk away from that computer. Take back our families, our neighborhoods, our evenings. Sit out in the yard with a neighbor and have a cup of coffee, touch base. Walk around town with family or friends.

Take time to share your blessings by helping someone. Regardless of another’s beliefs or nationality, always remember, this is a nation of we the people.

Put technology aside. Say hi, thank you, here let me open that door for you; reach out a helping hand. Today.
