JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Bobcats rip Lions, improve to 6-0

Host Blairsville improved to 6-0 by thumping United, 35-9, in a ninth-grade girls’ basketball game Tuesday.

Rena Enterline scored 12 points to power Blairsville. Catherine Martin added nine points.

Casey Cameron scored eight points for United.

Blairsville won the seventh- and eighth-grade game, 26-11.

Mackensie Misleany scored seven points for Blairsville.

Both teams play at home Thursday. Blairsville plays host to Northern Cambria and United welcomes Purchase Line.

• Emily Worcester scored a game-high 18 points to lead Homer-Center past Penns Manor, 48-28.

Lexi Newhouse and Haley Dies each scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Homer-Center.

Maddie Weaver scored nine points to pace Penns Manor.

Penns Manor won the seventh- and eighth-grade game, 24-14.

Homer-Center (3-0) travels to Saltsburg on Thursday.

• Payton Balogh scored a team-high 11 points to help Purchase Line nip visiting Saltsburg, 26-25.

Isabel Satler scored a game-high 15 points for Saltsburg.

Purchase Line won the seventh- and eight-grade game, 21-13.

Both teams play Thursday. Purchase Line (2-1) travels to United and Saltsburg plays host to Homer-Center.
