H.S. FOOTBALL: Homer-Center 28, Marion Center 6
MARION CENTER — Homer-Center piled up 20 second-quarter points and amassed 174 rushing yards en route to a ein over Marion Center in a Heritage Conference football game Friday.
Homer-Center running back Matt McAdoo put his team on the board first when he caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Berezansky to make it 7-0 with 7:55 to play in the first half.
Just 5:59 later, Homer-Center running back Ean Lee capped an eight-play, 51-yard drive with an 8-yard run that made it 14-0 with 1:56 left in the first half.
Then, as time expired in the first half, Berezansky launched a 22-yard touchdown pass to Lee, stretching Homer-Center’s lead to 20-0.
McAdoo capped a 16-play, 98-yard drive with a 3-yard run that extended the Wildcats’ lead to 28-0 with 7:18 to play.
Marion Center running back Colton Fairman scored a 10-yard touchdown with 3:29 to play to cut Homer-Center’s lead to 28-6.
Lee led Homer-Center with a game-high 82 yards on 19 carries. Mike Newhouse added 51 yards on 12 carries, and McAdoo had 36 yards on six attempts. Berezansky finished 10 of 13 passing for 113 yards, Lee caught four passes for 54 yards, and McAdoo snagged three passes for 40 yards.
John Lucas paced Marion Center with 34 yards on eight carries. Noah Hoover added 30 yards on seven attempts, and Fairman had 27 yards on six carries.
