Hebron Lutheran Church, in Blairsville, will celebrate Oktoberfest on Oct. 5 from 1 to 8 p.m.

Music will be provided by the band Dr. Zoot; R.J. the D.J.; and Pat Septak on the accordion.

Activities include kids’ games, crafts, face painting, a car cruise and a basket raffle.

German beers and Reisling wine will be available for purchase with German foods, including brats, German potato salad, sweet cabbage and noodles, green bean soup, harvest casserole and German desserts.

The goal of the festival is to increase the visibility of the church, raise funds, increase awareness of the church’s German heritage and sponsor a fun community festival. Hebron church was the first English-speaking Lutheran congregation west of the Allegheny Mountains.
