H.S. FOOTBALL: Wolves fall to another unbeaten team

NuMINE — West Shamokin, which started the season 3-0, fell to an undefeated team for the second time in as many weeks, losing to North Catholic, 60-27, in a WPIAL Eastern Conference football game Friday night.

West Shamokin took a 7-6 lead in the first quarter on Andrew Wingard’s 95-yard run, but North Catholic, the sixth-ranked team in the state, rattled off 40 straight points.

Wingard scored on a 1-yard run and 84-yard kickoff return in the third quarter. Alex Lasslo scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

West Shamokin plays at Wilkinsburg on Saturday.
