UNIONTOWN (AP) — Police say a West Virginia man is dead and a woman is in custody after a standoff in western Pennsylvania.

The incident began about noon Friday when an occupant of a pickup opened a window and allegedly fired on a police car that was in pursuit.

The truck crashed into a home near Uniontown and Donald Ray Brown, 53, of Buckhannon, W.Va., barricaded himself inside. After a 10-hour standoff, police entered the home and found that Brown was dead, apparently from a self-inflicted wound.
