H.S. FOOTBALL: Berlin 53, Northern Cambria 6
October 04, 2013 11:59 PM

NORTHERN CAMBRIA — Sloppy conditions and poor ball security played major factors in Northern Cambria’s dismantling at the hands of the Berlin Mountaineers in a non-conference football game Friday.

Tyler Pershing threw three interceptions — two of which were returned for touchdowns by Berlin’s Nick Stockwell — and fumbled twice as the Colts struggled to get anything going offensively.

Joe Frontino gained 48 yards on 14 carries and Nolan Paronish added 34 yards on six carries.

Berlin’s Braden Fochtman, who came into the game with 1,042 yards rushing on just 91 carries, was held under 100 yards for the first time all season. He gained 99 yards on nine carries, including a 56-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
