Underage drinking

Police at Indiana University of Pennsylvania cited Douglas Smith, 18, of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, with underage drinking and public drunkenness at 2:53 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of West Avenue. Smith was transported to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of intoxication, according to a report.

Travis King, 19, of Hookstown, Beaver County, was cited by IUP campus police with underage drinking and public drunkenness at the Hadley Union Building parking lot at 11:15 p.m. Friday, when officers discovered him vomiting from a parked car, officers reported.

Campus police cited a 17-year-old girl with underage drinking at 1:22 a.m. Saturday in the Wallwork Hall dormitory, according to a report. Police withheld the girl’s name and reported she was turned over to her parents after being treated for intoxication at IRMC.

Alyssa Foster, 19, of North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County, was cited with public drunkenness and underage drinking at 12:28 a.m. Saturday on South Drive at Pratt Drive, campus police reported. Officers found a man carrying Foster while she was intoxicated, and reported that she was treated at IRMC, then detained at the Indiana County Jail.

Wesley Thompson, 18, of Malvern, Chester County, was cited by campus police with underage drinking and public drunkenness at 12:13 a.m. Friday in the Putt Hall dormitory.

IUP police cited a 17-year-old boy with underage drinking at 6:02 a.m. Sunday after he was found unconscious from intoxication in the lobby of the Northern Suites dormitory, officers reported.

Campus police cited Nicholas Ezzi, 18, of Uniontown, Fayette County, with underage drinking at 12:05 a.m. Saturday in the Wallwork Hall dormitory. Police reported that Ezzi was treated for intoxication at IRMC.

IUP police cited Victoria Conti, 18, of Georgetown, Lancaster County, and Joshua Ickes, 18, of Bedford, Bedford County, with underage drinking and public drunkenness at 12:51 a.m. Friday on a sidewalk between Northern Suites and Keith Hall. Conti was held at the county jail and Ickes was sent to IRMC for medical evaluation, police reported.

Borough police cited Shawn Newpher, 20, of Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, with underage drinking and disorderly conduct after investigating a noise complaint at 3:32 a.m. Friday at 467 Elm St.

 

Fighting

Borough police found James Wolfe, 48, of Rowlesburg, W.Va., and Chad Kirk, 31, of Keyser, W.Va., fighting each other at 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street and cited each with disorderly conduct.

 

Intoxication charges

Justin Volpe, 22, of Derry, Westmoreland County, was cited by borough police with public drunkenness at 11:27 p.m. Friday when officers found him removing temporary “no parking” signs from the 1300 block of Philadelphia Street, according o a reported.

White Township

Drug charges

Jacob Guttenplan, 19, of Lansdale, Montgomery County, was charged by IUP campus police with possession of a small amount of marijuana, public drunkenness and underage drinking in the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex at 9:49 p.m. Oct. 3, when officers found him smoking pot on the arena floor during a concert, according to a news release. A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 4 in Indiana district court.
