HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER: Indiana boys to face Blackhawk in playoff opener

The Indiana High School boys’ soccer team will play Blackhawk in a WPIAL Class AA first-round playoff match Monday at 6 p.m. at Seneca Valley High School.

Indiana matched its single-season wins record with a 14-3-1 mark in the regular season and finished second in WPIAL Section 1-AA. Blackhawk (15-2-1) is the Section 4-AA champion, with a 12-0 record in section play.

The winner advances to face the Freedom-Shady Side Academy winner in the quarterfinals next Thursday.

• WEST ALIQUIPPA — Calvary Baptist closed its regular season with a 4-0 victory over Bethel Christian in a non-conference match.

Joel Knupp recorded his first career shutout. Andy Knupp and Jerry Zhang scored two goals each, and Andy Knupp added an assist.

Calvary Baptist (10-2) will compete in the Keystone Christian Education Association state tournament Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1 and 2.
