H.S. FOOTBALL: Indiana 41, Franklin Regional 24

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Sean Thompson rushed for three touchdowns and passed for two others as Indiana clinched a WPIAL playoff berth with a win over Hollidaysburg on Friday in a Class AAA Greater Allegheny Conference game.

The win gave the Indians a fourth-place finish in the section. The top five teams earn playoff spots.

Thompson ran for touchdowns of 1, 19 and 2 yards and tossed touchdown passes of 20 yards to Darrious Carter and 52 yards to Riley Stapleton. Thompson finished 16 of 20 for 160 yards without an interception.

Ian Scott rushed for 94 yards on 10 carries, and Thompson had 97 yards on 11 rushes.

Carter and Scott had interceptions. Scott returned his 31 yards for a touchdown to seal the game.

Indiana’s playoff opponent will be announced Monday night.
