Kate Bruce scored twice to lead IUP to a 5-2 win over Bellarmine (Ky.) on Thursday in a non-conference field hockey game at Miller Stadium.

It was the third straight victory for the Crimson Hawks (6-9).

Bruce’s two goals came in the first half, when the Crimson Hawks took a 3-0 lead. Her first came in the ninth minute on a crossing pass from Dani Edwards.

The next two IUP goals came just 2:15 apart. The first came from Ashley Mosner, who collected a shot off the post and drove it past Knights goalie Alex Moro. Bruce made it 3-0 when her shot from head-on trickled past Moro.

Edwards gave IUP a 4-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the second half when she scored off a pass from Jillian Duld. After Bellarmine scored in the 55th minute, IUP’s Chelsea Wanamaker scored to give IUP a 5-1 lead. The Knights added a late goal off a corner.

IUP goalie Darian Shuker made two saves.

IUP plays host to East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
