Calvary Baptist teams place at states

LEBANON — Calvary Baptist lost to Lebanon Christian, 5-2, in the Keystone Christian Education Association Class AA boys’ soccer championship game Saturday.

The game was tied 2-2 at halftime, but the Patriots couldn’t get anything going in the second half.

Andy Knupp scored both goals for Calvary Baptist, which finished its season with an 11-3 record. Joel Knupp made 12 saves in goal.

Andy Knupp, Joel Knupp and Tyler Chambers were each named to the all-tournament team.

• LEBANON — Calvary Baptist swept Emmanuel Baptist in the KCEA Class AA girls’ volleyball consolation match Saturday to finish third in the state tournament.

The Patriots won, 25-15, 25-14, 25-19.

Megan Plants finished with 14 kills and six aces to lead Calvary Baptist (8-6). Amy Frick added nine kills, and Erica Stephens racked up 16 service points.

Plants and Stephens were both named to the all-tournament team.
