DERRY TOWNSHIP

Thomas Nedley, 52, of New Derry, suffered moderate injuries after his Freightliner truck crossed both lanes of the highway, drove up an embankment, crashed into several trees then rolled onto its side, police reported.

The wreck happened around 1:15 p.m. Saturday on Route 982, about one-quarter mile from the Pittsburgh Street intersection. Police said the tires on the right side of the truck went off the road onto the berm as the driver was negotiating a downhill curve.

Nedley was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Hospital by Mutual Aid ambulance paramedics, according to police.
