Elks Ladies Auxiliary 931 Indiana held its Christmas dinner party Dec. 5 at the Elks Lodge with President Linda Malin attending. Chaplain Sabina Fiala gave the invocation.

The dining room was beautifully decorated by auxiliary members. Tables were covered with green tablecloths and Christmas trees were used as centerpieces. A buffet dinner was held.

After dinner, Malin introduced Peggy McClelland to the members. She asked for volunteers to help with purchasing gifts for the children’s Christmas party, which will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Sign-up was to be made by Dec. 16.

Malin introduced Sandy Shaffer and presented her with the Woman of the Year award. She has been chairwoman of the scholarship fund and instrumental in getting the recipient for the scholarship award for a number of years. She started collecting magazines to be placed in hospitals and also takes care of the plaque in the lodge entrance.

Attending the dinner were past presidents Barbara Norland, Betty Cook, Letty Calvetti, Josephine Valenti, Peggy Moore, Jean Reefer, Cherise Cunningham, Toni Bellock, Kathy King, Connie Minich, Paula Burnett and Lavelle Bothel.

Table decorations were given as door prizes. Winners were Diana Fako, Sherry Tedeschi, Ginny McGinnis, Rosetta Jobe and Marlene Buggey. All others received lottery tickets. The next meeting will be held Jan. 2. Chairwomen for the after holiday meeting will be Josephine Valenti and Betty Cook.
