Churches to celebrate Orthodox Christmas

Area Orthodox churches will hold the following Christmas services:

Christ Our Savior Orthodox Church, three miles west of Clymer off Route 286, Rayne Township

Monday: 9 p.m., Nativity (Christmas) Eve, Carols and Vigil Service

Tuesday: 10:30 a.m., Christmas Day, Nativity of Christ

 

St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, 465 Morris St., Clymer

Monday: 8 p.m., Divine Liturgy of the Nativity of Our Lord, Jesus Christ

 

SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Homer City

Sunday: 10 a.m., Divine Liturgy, Sunday of the Holy Fathers

Monday: 8 p.m., Nativity Vigil

Tuesday: 10 a.m., Divine Liturgy of Feast of the Nativity

Jan. 12: 10 a.m., Divine Liturgy, Sunday after the Nativity

Jan. 14: 9 a.m., Divine Liturgy of St. Basil, Feast of the Circumcision

Jan. 18: 5:30 p.m., Dinner on Theophany Eve; 6:30 p.m., Vespers of Theophany and the Great Blessing of Water

Jan. 19: 10 a.m., Divine Liturgy Feast of Theophany

Sunday: 10 a.m., Divine Liturgy. Those wishing to go to confession may do so prior to Liturgy.

Monday: 9:30 p.m., Eve of the Christ’s Nativity, the Grand Compline

Tuesday: 10 a.m., The Nativity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Divine Liturgy
