GREENSBURG — The Diocese of Greensburg has introduced Faith Finder, a free mobile application.
Developed by the diocesan Office of Information Technologies in conjunction with the Computer Science Department and Center of Excellence for Remote and Medically Under-Served Area at Saint Francis University, Loretto, the free app will provide users with information such as Mass times, a directory of parishes, and prayers and guides.
The app features a service locator, which allows users to locate Saturday evening and Sunday Masses within specific time frames and distance.
There is also a directory of all 78 parishes in the diocese with each church’s address, weekend Mass schedule, contact information and distance from the user’s location. Within seconds, a user can find a Mass to attend anywhere in the four-county diocese, which covers Armstrong, Indiana, Fayette and Westmoreland counties.
The app is currently a shared platform for information for the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown and the Diocese of Greensburg. Users can select which diocese they would like to access upon opening the app.
Saint Francis University hopes to serve and partner with other Catholic dioceses across the state and country to provide Catholics with pertinent and helpful information via Faith Finder.
To download, search Faith Finder in the Apple App Store. The app is available for iPhone or iPad.
An Android version of the app for the Google Play Store is in progress with deployment slated for midyear.
All of the information found in the app can still be found on any device with Internet access via the Diocese of Greensburg website at www.diocesesofgreensburg.org.
