Two large cranes are being used to install a steel beam as an emergency repair to the Airport Road Bridge above the Route 119 bypass in White Township.

The bridge was damaged by a truck last week. Airport Road will be closed during the repair, and motorists on the southbound lanes of the bypass may experience delays.

The state Department of Transportation recommends drivers follow a green detour route using Route 110 to Fourth and Philadelphia streets in Indiana and then Route 286 West back to Route 119.

The repair work may continue through Friday, depending on the weather. (Tom Peel/Gazette photo)
