SEEDS OF FAITH CHRISTIAN ACADEMY: Musicians take part in music festival
Recently, Seeds of Faith Christian Academy students had the opportunity to take part in the Indiana County Music Educators Association County Band Music Festival.
Students had been given their music two months prior to the festival, so that they could have the music prepared for the day.
County Band was held at United High School this year, with multiple schools throughout the county participating. Students were given the opportunity to play with other students as well as experience the atmosphere of a larger band.

Schools divided their groups into junior and senior high, each having a director invited by United. The Seeds of Faith students were excited to intermingle with new acquaintances from the county along with further developing their musical abilities.
Attending the senior high division of county band were Jasmine Kendall, Rachel Ellis, Hannah Shirley, Karl Wolfe and Matt Hood.
Representing the junior high at the event were Paige Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, Morgan Marquez, Maddie Kodman, Kaiya Parks, Julia Smyers and Casidhe Shetter.
The day may sound easy from the outside, but students and teachers worked tirelessly on musical preparation and the overall organization of the festival.
This year the day was shortened, because of a two-hour delay. The festival’s practice and rehearsal times as a band were cut from seven hours to just five hours.
Students prepared their music in advance so all they really needed were the final touches, which the directors were able to produce.
Parents, relatives and friends were invited to enjoy the program, which began with the junior high band and concluded with the senior high band’s performance.
Everyone enjoyed the day immensely and looks forward to next year.
