Every year Tri County Transportation sponsors a Christmas Card Contest and the National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest with the Purchase Line and Penns Manor Area school districts.

The Christmas Card Contest is with students in kindergarten through fourth grade. The students created their own cards to be turned in and judged. In the two age groups — kindergarten through second grade and third grade through fourth — the top finishers receive the following prizes: first place, CD boom box; second place, MP3 player; and third place, a video recorder.

After the judging is completed, all of the remaining cards go to local nursing homes to be distributed to the residents.

Tri County also sponsors the National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest within the school districts. The students create their own posters to be turned in and judged. The local winner will then be sent to be judged in the state competition. Tri County then provides the local winners with prizes.

There are also two divisions — kindergarten through second grade and third through fifth — and the top three receive the following prizes: first place, $50; second place, $40; and third place, $25.
