The Indiana Area Senior High School string orchestra and vocal music department will present a free winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium.

The orchestra, under the direction of Julianne Laird, will perform several selections and will feature soloists on the district’s newly-acquired electronic cello.

Joshua Soundararajan will also be featured on the violin solo in Vittorio Monti’s “Czardas.”

The men’s chorus will perform a couple of songs, one featuring baritone Jordan Lamar on an arrangement of the traditional spiritual “Sinner Man.”

They will also show some of their moves with a medley of tunes called “Party Rock!”

The evening will conclude with the a cappella choir singing a few songs, ending with “Somewhere Out There” from the 1986 movie “An American Tail” with soprano Keely McCune as soloist.

Lamar and McCune are two of nine students who will represent Indiana High School this week at the PMEA Region II Chorus festival at Girard High School near Erie.

The Indiana choirs are under the direction of Scott Salser.
