LENTEN DINNERS: The Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, will hold Lenten dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday during Lent in the church hall. There will not be a dinner on Good Friday. There will be a wide variety of meal selections and takeout will be available. Meals are $10 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12 and free for children younger than 6. TEA PARTY: The Happy Homemakers will meet at 11 a.m. March 6 at Trinity United Methodist Church for a tea party and craft day.
SOUP AND SANDWICH SOCIAL: The soup and sandwich social scheduled for last Saturday was postponed due to a death in the congregation. The Clymer United Methodist Women’s group will now hold the social from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the church social hall at the corner of Fifth and Hancock streets, Clymer. Homemade soups, sandwiches, desserts and drinks will be available to eat there or for takeout.
LENTEN LUNCHEONS: Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana, will offer Lenten soup luncheons each Tuesday during Lent from March 11 to April 8. The lunches include homemade soups, bread and dessert from 11:45 a.m. through 1 p.m. Free-will offerings are accepted. Three soups will be available each week, including a vegetarian option. Takeout is available, and everyone is welcome.
