A look at the prospective Democratic candidates for lieutenant governor:

Brenda Alton: Aide to former Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson.

Mark Critz: Served almost three years in the U.S. House of Representatives after serving as an aide to late congressman John Murtha.

Brad Koplinski: First elected to Harrisburg city council in 2007.

Brandon Neuman: First elected to state House of Representatives from Washington County in 2010.

Jay Paterno: Son of late Penn State football coach Joe Paterno.

Mark Smith: First elected as a Bradford County commissioner in 2007.

Michael Stack: First elected to state Senate from Philadelphia in 2000.
