March 19, 2014 10:45 AM

Big Hearts Little Hands is sponsoring its annual Bowl For Kids event on April 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mohawk Lanes in White Township.

BHLH is a mentoring program of the YMCA of Indiana County, serving more than 60 “littles.” All “bigs” are YMCA volunteers committed to making a difference in the life of a young person.

Local businesses can support the event by becoming a sponsor, donating prizes for the auctions and encouraging employees to participate as team captains and team members.

Bowl For Kids is an event for the entire community.

“This event is a fun way to make a difference in a child’s life,” Shenika Washington, of BHLH, said in a release. “You may not have the time to become a mentor, but by supporting the Bowl For Kids event, you are still making a change in a child’s life forever.”

Business teams and other bowlers will be joined by the teams of “littles” and their mentors throughout the hours of bowling.
