McCANDLESS (AP) — A suburban Pittsburgh woman is facing charges including homicide after her two children were found unresponsive in a bathtub, one of whom later died.
Laurel Schlemmer, 40, of McCandless was charged with homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated assault in connection with Tuesday’s incident. No motive and no additional details have been released by police.
Emergency dispatchers received a call shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday that two children were unresponsive in a bathtub at the Schlemmer home.
Police won’t say who was inside the house at the time or who placed the call.
Investigators said 3-year-old Luke Schlemmer died after being rushed to a hospital. Police said 6-year-old Daniel Schlemmer remained in critical condition.
