HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE: Indiana teams split games

Michael Supinka scored a goal late in the fourth quarter to lift Indiana to an 8-7 win over Canon-McMillan in a WPIAL Division 2 non-section boys’ lacrosse game Wednesday at Andy Kuzneski Field.

The game was knotted 7-7 when Supinka scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal from 15 yards from the left hash with 1:02 left in the fourth quarter.

Supinka, Dylan Stapleton and Ryan Watters netted two goals apiece for the Indians. Stapleton chipped in two assists, Watters had an assist, Adam Kokus added four ground balls, and goalie Max Kittelmann made five saves.

Indiana tied Canon-McMillan, 4-4, in the junior varsity game.

Brandon Dixon led Indiana with a goal and an assist. Dom Glavach, Tyler Mulac and Eric Bray each scored a goal, Sean Bray and Connor Tshudy each tallied an assist, Grant Sharp had five ground balls, and goalie Nolan Ruffner made four saves.

Indiana (2-2) travels to Penn-Trafford on Monday.

• Indiana lost to Yough, 12-7, in a WPIAL Division 2 Section 1 girls’ game Tuesday at Andy Kuzneski Field.

Chrissy Conklin scored three goals to lead Indiana, Aubrey Bohn added two goals and Logan Everett and Cassidy Lydick had a goal apiece. Bohn also led the defensive effort with five ground balls. Leah Pidgeon made 12 saves.

Indiana (0-2) visits Ellis School today.

Indiana lost the junior varsity game, 9-5. Claire Kuzneski and Alicia Kunkle scored two goals apiece, and Teresa Roth had the other tally.

Kunkle and Roth had six ground balls apiece on defense, and Casey Simmons had 10 saves.
