Candidates night slated

Three Republican candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives, District 9, will meet the public on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on the IUP campus. District 9 includes all of Indiana County and parts or all of 11 other counties in central and south-central Pennsylvania.

Incumbent Bill Shuster of Blair County, Art Halvorson of Bedford County and Travis Schooley of Franklin County have accepted the invitation to answer questions from the voters.

The panelists in charge of selecting questions from those submitted will be Indiana County Commissioner Rod Rudduck, Indiana Armstrong Patriot member Ron Davis of Armstrong County and Courtney Adams, Indiana County GOP Republican committeewoman.

Chauncey Ross, staff writer and Web editor for The Indiana Gazette, will serve as moderator of the forum.
