BRUSH VALLEY TOWNSHIP: Hearing set for detox center

Brush Valley Township officials will hold a public hearing Tuesday regarding a proposed drug and alcohol detox center at the site of the former Eastern Orthodox Foundation in Cherryhill Township. Residents with any concerns are invited to attend.

The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. at the courthouse annex in Indiana.

The center would be run by a nonprofit organization and would be called the SpiritLife Center at St. John’s Manor.

Plans for a 51-bed, men’s-only center are in the works.

In other business, supervisors:

• Announced there are 17 locations participating in the community yard sale Saturday.

The fire department will be selling chicken at the fire hall, where maps with sale locations will be available.

• Announced that Campground and Hoffman Roads and Route 259 North from Hoffman Route to Route 422 will be closed to traffic June 14 for the Jackie Kallal Triathlon.
