Burrell Township village once had blast furnace

Corrigan, McKinney & Co. blast furnace was located in Josephine.

It was also known as the Josephine Furnace & Coke Co. This million-dollar furnace began operating Jan. 14, 1907.

A second million-dollar furnace was built in 1911.
