Indiana human resources society wins award

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has awarded the Indiana County Area Society for Human Resources Management the Excel Gold Award for 2013.

The award is part of the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence, which aligns individual chapters with SHRM. The award recognizes a chapter’s accomplishments and strategic activities and initiatives that promote the human resources profession at the local level.

The Indiana County chapter will be recognized in SHRM publications and at SHRM conferences. As an Excel winner, it receives a certificate of recognition and a special banner to display at its meetings and events.

Indiana County Area Society for Human Resources Management is a professional organization dedicated to help meet the HR needs of the Indiana County area. It meets the third Friday of each month at St. Andrew’s Village in White Township to provide networking opportunities and HRCI-credited speakers.

ICASHRM is led by President Beth Shearer, faculty/administrative employment manager, Indiana University of Pennsylvania; President-Elect Michelle Knupp, director of accounting and finance, Prime Metals & Alloys Inc.; Secretary Julie Maystrovich, HR associate, Clark Metal Products; and Treasurer Susan Ragar-Parr, compensation and benefits operation manager, S&T Bank.
