100TH BIRTHDAY: Marian Anderson

Marian Blough Anderson, formerly of Dilltown and now living at the Village House in St. Andrew’s Village, will celebrate her 100th birthday Sunday.

She was born in Somerset County on July 20, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Sara Jane Mull.

Anderson was married to Carl Blough for 50 years and to Leonard Anderson for 12 years. Both are now deceased. She is the mother of three daughters: Shirley, who is deceased, Sara and Jane; stepsons Wayne and Cliff, who is deceased; and a stepdaughter, Shirley. Marian has three granddaughters, three grandsons (one deceased) and nine great-grandchildren.

She was very active in the two churches she attended, the Dilltown Baptist Church and Black Lick Community United Methodist Church. She was also active in the Armagh Senior Center, United Area Lions Club, Armagh and East Wheatfield Auxiliary and Indiana Aging Services.

Marian is a retired postmaster from the Dilltown Post Office.

An open house will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Village House dining room to honor Anderson. All are welcome.
