Grungy Jars:

What you’ll need:

• Peanut butter jars or canisters

• Modge podge

• Paint brush

• Coffee grounds, used or fresh

• Optional: Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg for scent

• Optional: Label

How to:

Scrub labels off of jar. Brush on a layer of modge podge on the jar. Roll it in coffee grinds while still wet. Sprinkle grinds on any spots that were missed while rolling.

Repeat steps until you have the look you want.

If using a label, apply it with the first layer of modge podge and avoid brushing the area in following steps.

Optional: For a grungy jar with a scent, add cinnamon, ginger or nutmeg .

Bath Salts:

What you’ll need:

• Epson salt

• Coarse sea salt

• Essential oil, scent of your choice

• Soap coloring

How to:

Mix all ingredients and lay flat to dry. After drying, put the bath salts in a mason jar and use a homemade label for decoration.

Glittered pine cones:

What you’ll need:

• Pine cones

• Newspaper

• Elmer’s glue

• Glitter

How to:

Gather pine cones, let them dry by a heat source on newspaper for about three days until they “open” as far as they can. Coat the cones with glue and roll in glitter. Let dry. Add string to hang from tree.

Note: The more glitter, the better the result.

For the birds (and the deer):

What you’ll need:

• Pine cones

• Peanut butter

• Bird seed

How to:

Lather pine cones in peanut butter and roll in bird seed. Tie string to hang from tree outside for birds. Decorate the string with brightly colored beads or feathers before tying it up.

Or, tie a salt lick block to the branch with decorated string for the deer.
