IUP’s Lindsay Stamp and Cornell “Manny” Yarde have earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division Athlete of the Week awards.

Stamp was named the athlete of the week in women’s basketball, and Yarde was named the freshman of the week in men’s basketball.

A junior guard from Erie, Stamp averaged 28.0 points and 6.5 rebounds and shot 61.7 percent from the field in a pair of wins. She scored a career-high 35 points and tied a school record by making seven 3-point field goals — on seven attempts — in a 96-72 win over Pitt Johnstown. She posted the second-highest scoring game in school history, three points off the record accomplished three times.

Through four games, Stamp leads the PSAC in scoring at 24.3 points per game.

Yarde, a redshirt freshman guard from Leesport, came off the bench to help IUP win a pair of games. He averaged 5.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
