On Dec. 2, the Indiana Optimist Club selected Garrett Sharp as the Boy of the Month for December, the 672nd since the program was inaugurated. Garrett, 18, is the son of Brian and Denesa Sharp, of Indiana, and the brother of Grant, Gunner and Gabrielle.
He is a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church, where he participated in the Midnight Mission for two years.
Garrett is a senior at Indiana Area Senior High School, where he is treasurer of the senior class, a member of the varsity soccer and varsity lacrosse teams, and founder of the Floor Hockey Club. He is a high honors and honors student.
In his spare time, Garrett enjoys summer baseball, men’s chorus, traveling lacrosse and soccer. He also participates as a volunteer coach in Youth Summer Soccer Camp and indoor soccer. He enjoys reading books by Rick Riordan and J.K. Rowling. He enjoys watching “Duck Dynasty” and ESPN and his favorite subjects in school are history and introduction to computer science.
Garrett plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania to major in computer science.
