ERIE, Pa. (AP) — The National Weather Service says up to a foot of snow could fall in parts of northwestern Pennsylvania starting Monday night.

Light snow is forecast across western Pennsylvania, but the chances of snow are enhanced in the Erie area as a cold air mass blows across lake Erie.

The weather service has issued a winter storm watch from Monday night through late Tuesday, with accumulations more than six inches possible. Up to a foot of snow is expected in some areas.

Erie has more than 142 inches of snow this winter. The record is 149.1 inches in the winter of 2000-01.
