CLYMER — During the week of Feb. 3-6, Calvary Baptist Academy took part in Spirit Week.

On Monday, Hat and Slipper Day, students and teachers wore crazy hats and slippers.

On Tuesday, Red, White and Gray Day, everyone showed school spirit by wearing school colors.

Because of the weather, school was canceled on Wednesday; therefore, Thursday was a combination of Nerd and “Duck Dynasty” Day.

Each day the senior class chose winners from each of the six groups — kindergarten 4-5; first and second grade; third through sixth grade; seventh and eighth grades; and ninth through 11th grade — and overall winners at the end of the week. Two groups tied as overall winners: third through sixth grade and ninth through 11th grade. They were to enjoy a pizza party today.

In addition to Spirit Week, Tuesday, Feb. 4, was also Senior Recognition Night at Calvary Baptist Academy. Between the girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball game with Blair County Christian School, 11 seniors who had been involved in any sport at the academy were recognized.

Special recognition was given not only to all senior players, but also to their parents who sacrifice so much. The seniors and their parents were served a gourmet meal while enjoying a front-row seat at a basketball game. This was a very enjoyable evening for everyone involved.
