ICTC: Students prepare for competency examinations
For the month of March, the Indiana County Technology Center is recognizing seniors who are preparing for the upcoming National Occupational Competency Testing Institute exams.
On most Fridays, special treats of motivation and encouragement will be distributed to seniors in each program area. The seniors will have a designated time to study for NOCTI while having a special treat.
On March 7, the students were brought refreshments. They chose from red punch or iced tea, which was provided by the Culinary Arts program.
Thursday was “Keep Crunching Your Way to an Advanced Score.” The students got to enjoy a bag of chips as they continued their preparation for the exams.
March 21 will be “Fry Day.” Seniors will be able to choose between cheesy fries, ketchup fries or plain fries.
March 28 is the last day for the seniors to prepare for their exams. The students will be going on a “NOCTI Walk.” Research shows that exercise boosts brain activity that can help students retain information and help raise test scores.
Walking and exercising in general helps reduce stress, improves self-confidence, alleviates anxiety, boosts brainpower and sharpens memory.
The NOCTI Walk will take place prior to their NOCTI final session.
