MARION CENTER: Artists reproduce masterpieces

MARION CENTER -- Cathy Paterson's Advanced Art students at Marion Center Area High School began the year by studying art history, writing papers and giving oral reports on their favorite artists.

They then selected a painting by their chosen artist and reproduced it on an umbrella over the past few weeks.

Featured paintings include: Claude Monet's "The Water-Lily Pond" reproduced by Brookelyn Miloser; Paul Klee's "Senecio" reproduced by Julia Snickles; Georges Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" reproduced by Amanda Baker; Edward Cooper's "Night Hawks" reproduced by Jon Mabon; Edgar Degas' "Two Dancers on a Stage" reproduced by Madeleine Jones; Andrew Wyeth's "Christina's World" reproduced by Heather Shick; and Georgia O'Keeffe's "Red Poppy" reproduced by Corinna Manschke.
