SEEDS OF FAITH CHRISTIAN ACADEMY: Students take part in Math Olympics

Euclid, a Greek professor of mathematics, science and geometry in the city of Alexandria in Egypt, once said, “The laws of nature are but the mathematical thoughts of God.”

With this worldview in mind, six Seeds of Faith Christian Academy students joined 152 students from several Pittsburgh-area Christian schools to participate in the ACSI Western Pennsylvania Math Olympics.

Penn Christian Academy in Butler hosted the April 4 event. The Math Olympics consisted of four 11-minute timed tests.

Students competed at their grade level in either the computation or reasoning categories. During the tabulation of scores, students had an opportunity to relax and meet with students from other schools. The afternoon event ended with an awards ceremony, in which students were recognized for their achievements in each category.

Seeds of Faith Christian Academy offers students a variety of opportunities to compete academic and fine arts events throughout the school years. These events encourage students to develop their God-given abilities on a broader scale outside the local classroom.
